how to treat osteoporosis without medication

  • ELEVEN NATURAL INGREDIENTS TO PREVENT OSTEOPOROSIS

Osteoporosis is a general skeletal disease characterized by a decrease in bone mass. This decrease in bone mass is associated with an alteration of bone micro-architecture, leading to an increase in bone fragility and an increased risk of fracture. With age, the decrease in the protein structure is a normal phenomenon, it is physiological osteopenia linked to the aging of the skeleton. Osteoporosis is a runaway of this phenomenon.

Bone is a tissue in  permanent renewal  thanks to the coupled functioning of two types of cells:

    • Osteoclasts destroy old bone: this is  bone resorption
    • Osteoblasts make new bone: this is bone formation.

Depending on the period of life, it is formation or destruction that will predominate.

If you suffer from osteoporosis and want a natural cure, we have the solution for you.

  • THE BENEFITS OF BANANA AGAINST OSTEOPOROSIS

The bones that make up the skeletal system are structures that contain high levels of calcium. There is rapid bone formation during infancy and childhood. By the late 1920s, when the teenage years are over, bone production reaches almost the same levels as bone destruction. From this point on, bone mass and health should be protected by taking care of calcium and vitamin D in order to delay bone destruction as age progresses. As bone destruction accelerates with age, this situation, combined with unbalanced nutrition, begins to develop the image of osteoporosis, also known as osteoporosis. Although it does not cause major problems during the first period, as age progresses it can damage the bones and the disease should be detected early with routine testing and necessary treatment procedures should be applied.

    What is osteoporosis?

In healthy and young bones, there is a structure made up of minerals and mainly calcium salts due to strong collagen fibers. It is normal for this structure to lose its strength and weaken with aging. But osteoporosis means that the bones turn into a more fragile structure due to the excessive decrease in bone density. Osteoporosis, known as bone resorption, literally means spongy (porous) bone. Gaps form in the bones and their density decreases. This causes them to break and crack. It is mostly detected as a result of bone imaging after the development of a fracture or crack. The bones where osteoporosis-related fracture formation is most common are the bones of the wrists, spine, and hips.

    Bananas contain many important nutrients

Everything about the banana: choosing it, cooking it, storing it ...
Bananas are one of the most popular fruits in the world. Native to Southeast Asia, it is now cultivated in many warm regions of the world. Bananas vary in color, size and shape. The most common is Cavendish, which is a kind of dessert banana. Green when unripe, it turns yellow as it ripens. Bananas contain a good amount of fiber, as well as several antioxidants. One medium-sized banana (118 grams) contains:

    • Potassium: 9 %
    • Vitamin B6: 33%
    • Vitamin C: 11%
    • Magnesium: 8%
    • Copper: 10%
    • Manganese: 14%
    • Net fuels: 24 grams
    • Fiber: 3.1 grams
    • Protein: 1.3 grams
    • Fat: 0.4 grams

Each banana contains only around 105 calories and is made up almost exclusively of water and carbohydrates. Bananas contain very little protein and almost no fat. The carbohydrates in unripe green bananas are mostly starch and resistant starch, but as the banana ripens the starch turns into sugar (glucose, fructose, and sucrose).

Bananas contain nutrients that moderate blood sugar levels

Bananas are high in pectin, a type of fiber that gives the flesh its structural, spongy shape. Unripe bananas contain resistant starch, which acts like soluble fiber and escapes digestion. Pectin and resistant starch can both moderate blood sugar levels after meals and reduce appetite by slowing stomach emptying. Additionally, bananas have a low to the medium glycemic index (GI), which measures - from 0 to 100 - how quickly a food raises blood sugar levels. The GI of unripe bananas is around 30, while that of ripe bananas is around 60. The average value of all bananas is 51. This means that bananas are not expected to cause major spikes in blood sugar in healthy people. However, this does not apply to people with type 2 diabetes, who should probably avoid eating a lot of ripe bananas - and carefully monitor their blood sugar levels if they do.

    Bananas May Improve Digestive Health

The virtues of bananas: your health and beauty ally - KADALYS
Dietary fiber has been linked to many health benefits, including better digestion. A medium-sized banana contains around 3 grams of fiber, which makes bananas a fairly good source of fiber. Bananas contain two main types of fiber:

Pectin: It decreases as the banana ripens.
Resistant starch: It is found in unripe bananas.
Resistant starch escapes digestion and ends up in the large intestine, where it becomes food for beneficial bacteria in the intestine.

Additionally, some test-tube studies suggest that pectin may help protect against colon cancer.

    Bananas Can Help Lose Weight

The banana diet, how to lose weight with a banana-based diet?
No studies have directly tested the effects of bananas on weight loss. However, bananas have several characteristics that should make them a portion of good weight-loss food. For starters, bananas are relatively low in calories. A medium banana contains just over 100 calories, but it is also very nutritious and filling. Eating more fiber from vegetables and fruits like bananas has been repeatedly linked to decreased body weight and weight loss. Additionally, unripe bananas are packed with resistant starch, so they tend to be very filling and can reduce your appetite.

    Bananas May Support Heart Health
Potassium is an essential mineral for heart health, especially for controlling blood pressure. Despite its importance, few people get enough potassium in their diet. Bananas are a great dietary source of potassium. One medium-sized banana (118 grams) contains 9% of the RDA. Eating a diet high in potassium can help lower blood pressure, and people who consume a lot of potassium have up to 27% lower risk of heart disease. Plus, bananas contain a decent amount of magnesium, which is also important for heart health.

    Bananas contain powerful antioxidants

Do you know which of these bananas is the best for your health?
Fruits and vegetables are great sources of dietary antioxidants, and bananas are no exception. They contain several types of powerful antioxidants, including dopamine and catechins. These antioxidants are linked to many health benefits, such as reducing the risk of heart disease and degenerative diseases. However, it is often misunderstood that dopamine in bananas acts as a chemical that provides a sense of well-being in the brain. In fact, dopamine from bananas does not cross the blood-brain barrier. It just works as a powerful antioxidant instead of changing hormones or mood.

Bananas Can Help You Feel Fuller

The health benefits of bananas - Marie Claire
Resistant starch is a type of indigestible carbohydrate - found in unripe bananas and other foods - that works as soluble fiber in your body. As a general rule of thumb, you can estimate that the greener the banana, the higher its resistant starch content. In contrast, yellow, ripe bananas contain lower amounts of resistant starch and total fiber, but proportionately more soluble fiber. Pectin and resistant starch both have appetite-suppressing effects and increase feelings of fullness after meals.

Bananas May Be Beneficial For Exercise

Sports activities offered by our sports coaches
Bananas are often considered the perfect food for athletes, largely due to their mineral content and easily digestible carbohydrates. Eating bananas can help reduce exercise-related muscle cramps and pain, which affects up to 95% of the general population. The reason for these cramps is largely unknown, but a popular theory attributes the blame for these cramps to a mixture of dehydration and electrolyte imbalance. However, research shows mixed results on bananas and muscle cramps. While some studies find them helpful, others don't. That said, bananas provide great nutrition before, during, and after endurance exercise.

  • EIGHT NATURAL WAYS TO FIGHT OSTEOPOROSIS

    What is osteoporosis?

Osteoporosis is a skeletal disorder characterized by decreased bone density and alterations of the micro-architecture of bone. Many people who have osteoporosis will not find out about the disease until something breaks. Our bones get thinner and more fragile with age, but this process can be slowed down and even severely inhibited. A well-composed diet will make the bones healthy and strong for a long time.

If you suffer from osteoporosis and want a natural cure, we have the solution for you.

    Take care of calcium

    Image search result for "milk"

Bones are made up of more than 2/3 calcium. Calcium stores should be taken care of before the age of 20, so people who have not taken care of them should remember to provide them with the right dose of calcium each day. Appropriate, that is, not less than 750 milligrams per day (in old age and even more in pregnancy - 1250-1500 milligrams per day). The most valuable source of calcium is milk and its derived products. Every day you need to consume about three glasses of milk plus additional dairy products (yogurt, kefir, yellow cheese). The best is low-fat milk, 0% milk does not serve our bones at all - the complete elimination of fat robs them of vitamin D,

    Image search result for "fromage"

The yellow cheese contains more calcium than pure milk (two slices correspond to a glass of milk!) Unfortunately it is fat and calories, so it should not be the basis of a calcium feeding, but only a good complement. There is a lot of calcium in fermented dairy products: yogurt and kefir. An example of a daily intake that fully meets our body's calcium needs might look like this: 750 milliliters of milk, 100g of cottage cheese and 20g of yellow cheese (you can turn off cottage cheese which has relatively little calcium and replace it with yogurt, kefir or other slices of cheese).

There are dairy products on the market that do not contain lactose - for people who cannot tolerate it (a liter of lactose-free cow's milk costs about 9 PLN, a cup of yogurt with a capacity of 400 g - about 7 PLN).

Marine fish, especially canned sprats, sardines, and herring, are a rich source of calcium - their bones are great for supporting the human skeletal system. Already 80g (half a can) of sardines or sprats will provide your body with the same amount of calcium as a full glass of milk. The best is smoked fish and canned fish in oil - the latest research shows that the Mediterranean diet (containing a lot of olive oil) is associated with a significant increase in the body's concentration of osteocalcin and other markers responsible for bone building, thus preventing osteoporosis.

Eat vegetables, dried fruits, and grains

Your allies in the fight against osteoporosis are also green vegetables: cabbage (Italian, Chinese, bok choy), Brussels sprouts, kale and broccoli (but only as a calcium dietary support). Calcium in vegetables is easily absorbed. A lot of calcium is in turnips - a glass of grated turnips is about 200 milligrams of this element. Calcium is also found in parsley and peanuts (in particular the former also contains a lot of vitamin C, which is involved in the formation of collagen necessary for ossification).

Bones are not used for plants rich in oxalates: sorrel, rhubarb and spinach, because they bind calcium and prevent its absorption. Oily fish (salmon, mackerel, halibut) are in turn a source of vitamin D3, which is very important for bone health.

Nuts and grains support our bones in several ways because in addition to calcium, they also contain other elements necessary for the skeleton: phosphorus, magnesium, boron, and fluorine, as well as the protein responsible for bone formation. You will find the most calcium in almonds, pistachios and sunflower seeds. Potassium which protects against calcium loss is found in almonds and peanuts. Nuts and flax seeds, on the other hand, contain a lot of omega 3 fatty acids.

    Image search result for "beans"

Peas, beans, soybeans (especially in the form of tofu) - eat these if you want to strengthen your bones. Half a cup of tofu contains 285 milligrams of calcium. Legumes should be consumed especially by women during menopause. In addition to being rich in protein, they contain phytohormones that alleviate its symptoms. Phytohormones can be found in tofu and beans, but also in flaxseed oil, whole grains, and sunflower seeds.

Does drinking lots of water make you lose weight? - The Anaca3.com blog

The condition of our bones also depends on how much water we drink. A large amount of calcium can be contained in the tap or well water. Hard water has a high content of calcium and magnesium. People who drink such water are less likely to develop heart disease. Thanks to it, fats are easier to eliminate from the body and no excess cholesterol is produced. It should be remembered that you need to drink about 2 liters of water per day.

Water is good for our bones not only when we drink it. Swimming and water aerobics strengthen the spine and the muscles that support it. The effort in the water is gentle and safe and gives very good results.

Some products interfere with the absorption or even increase the excretion of calcium from the body. One of the biggest enemies of our bones is table salt - its excessive consumption removes calcium from the body with urine. The bones are also not served by caffeine and alcohol and ... a sedentary lifestyle and lack of physical exercise. Bone decalcification issues can also have fans of fast food, powdered soup, and soft drinks. Bones also weaken certain medications - dehydrating agents, steroids, and hormones used for thyroid problems.

  • NATURAL THERAPY TO CURE OSTEOPOROSIS

    What is osteoporosis?

Osteoporosis is a systemic skeletal disease characterized by low bone mass, altered bone microarchitecture of bone tissue, and, consequently, increases the risk of fracture. In the absence of early detection, the disease progresses for a long time without noise, without clinical signs, starting with the appearance of complications: fractures (more frequent: wrist, vertebrae/tightening, hip) associated with chronic pain, deformities and functional impotence (ankylosis). This leads to a significant reduction in the quality of life of patients.

Osteoporosis is a common condition with age. After 35 years, the process of replacing dead cells is slowed down. Bones affected by osteoporosis become more porous and break much more easily. The risk factors for osteoporosis are heredity, predominance in women (especially after menopause), alcohol, smoking, certain medications or hormones, thin constitution and others. Osteoporosis has no obvious symptoms and is characterized by an easier fracture of the bones and a decrease in height (bone bracing) with age.

If you suffer from osteoporosis and want a natural cure, we have the solution for you.

    Red clover

Image search result for "Red clover"

According to research published in Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine, red clover extract is considered to be a herbal medicine for people with osteoporosis. The results of the study revealed that consuming red clover extract for 12 weeks had a good effect on bone health in postmenopausal women. According to the results of the study, this supplement helps protect the spine from the effects of bone aging due to age and osteoporosis.

Other research also mentions that the process of reducing bone density occurs more slowly in women who regularly consume red clover. Why? Red clover is said to contain isoflavones structurally similar to natural estrogen in the human body. Estrogen itself is a hormone that helps protect bone density and strength. The decrease in the levels of the hormone estrogen in the body is one of the main factors that increase the risk of osteoporosis.

    Black cohosh

Image search result for "Black Cohosh"
Black cohosh is a popular herb used by the Native American community to overcome women's health issues. Black cohosh is widely used to treat symptoms of menopause, PMS, menstrual pain, acne, and induction of labor. But in addition to that, this herbal medicine is also often used to treat osteoporosis.

Black cohosh contains phytoestrogens (estrogen-like substances) that are believed to help prevent bone loss. A study in the journal Bone found evidence that black cohosh supports bone formation in mice. Even so, black cohosh cannot be used as an estrogen substitute in any treatment, including hormone therapy. In some parts of the body, black cohosh increases the effects of estrogen. While in other parts, black cohosh is actually observed to reduce the effects of estrogen which are detrimental to the body.

More research is still needed to strengthen the evidence that this herbal medicine is really effective for osteoporosis or not. Be sure to discuss the benefits and side effects of this herbal medicine with your doctor before consuming it.

    April

    Image search result for "Horsetail"
The horsetail is part of medicinal plants that could help overcome osteoporosis. Usually, these herbs are consumed in the form of herbal supplements, teas or compresses.

The silicon content in horsetail is believed to help reduce bone loss. In addition, the plant with the Latin name Equisetum arvense would also strongly stimulate bone regeneration. This content contains compounds that work like diuretic pills or, in other words, make you urinate frequently. Therefore, it is generally advisable to drink plenty of water so that the lost and outgoing fluid can be replaced.

In addition to osteoporosis, this herbal remedy is also used to treat fluid build-up in the body like edema. High cholesterol levels, heavy periods, and kidney stones can also be alleviated by these herbal remedies. However, more research is still needed to prove its effectiveness.

Herbal medicine is not the main treatment for osteoporosis

Although this is natural, keep in mind that herbal medicine is not a substitute for the primary treatment. No studies give 100% guarantees that herbal remedies can replace osteoporosis medications. Much research is still needed to strengthen the evidence for potential reports of herbal medications for osteoporosis.

The goal of herbal medicine itself is not to cure but to relieve symptoms and severity. Therefore, herbal medicines are usually only given as a supplement to medicines from other doctors. You should also consult a doctor to decide which herbal medicines are safe and suitable for your condition. Because its active ingredients can interfere with the work of the main drug.

Herbal remedies consumed may react negatively to the medicines you take. Instead of relieving the disease, herbal remedies can actually worsen bone and body health. Therefore, always consult a doctor before taking any herbal medicines in the form of supplements or other extracts.

Apples Can Be Good For Weight Loss

Lose weight sustainably: Tips for long-term weight loss

Apples are high in fiber and water - two qualities that make them filling. In one study, people who ate apple slices before a meal felt more full than those who ate applesauce, apple juice, or any apple product. In the same study, those who started their meals with apple slices also ate an average of 200 calories less than those who didn't. In another 10-week study of 50 overweight women, participants who ate apples lost an average of 2 pounds (1 kg) and ate fewer calories overall, compared to those who ate cookies. oats with a similar calorie and fiber content. Researchers believe that apples are more filling because they are less dense in energy while providing fiber and bulk. In addition, some of their natural compounds can promote weight loss.

Apples can be good for your heart

10 good reasons to love apples - For your heart | Articles ...

Apples have been linked to a lower risk of heart disease. One reason may be that apples contain soluble fiber - the one that can help lower your blood cholesterol levels. They also contain polyphenols, which have antioxidant effects. Many of them are concentrated in the skin. One of these polyphenols is the flavonoid epicatechin, which can lower blood pressure. An analysis of studies found that high intakes of flavonoids were linked to a 20% lower risk of stroke. Flavonoids may help prevent heart disease by lowering blood pressure, reducing "bad" LDL oxidation, and acting as antioxidants. Another study comparing the effects of eating an apple a day with taking statins - a class of drugs known to lower cholesterol  - found that apples would be almost as effective in reducing heart disease mortality as drugs. However, since this was not a controlled trial, the results should be taken with a grain of salt. Another study linked the consumption of white fruits and vegetables, such as apples and pears, to a reduced risk of stroke. For every 25 grams - about 1/5 cup of apple slices - consumed, the risk of stroke is reduced by 9% .

They are linked to a lower risk of diabetes

Diabetes in figures: number of diabetics in France and in ...

Several studies have linked the consumption of apples to a lower risk of type 2 diabetes . In a large study, eating an apple a day was linked to a 28% lower risk of type 2 diabetes, compared to not eating apples. Even eating a few apples a week had a similar protective effect. It is possible that the polyphenols in apples may help prevent tissue damage to the beta cells in your pancreas. Beta cells make insulin in your body and are often damaged in people with type 2 diabetes.

They may have prebiotic effects and promote good gut bacteria

Apples contain pectin, a type of fiber that acts like a prebiotic. This means that it feeds the good bacteria in your gut. Your small intestine does not absorb fiber during digestion. Instead, it goes to your colon, where it can promote the growth of good bacteria. It also turns into other useful compounds that circulate in your body . New research suggests that this could be the reason behind some of the protective effects of apples against obesity, type 2 diabetes, and heart disease.

Substances in apples may help prevent cancer

  • YOGURT TO TREATS OSTEOPOROSIS

    Osteoporosis - what is it?

Osteoporosis is a pathological reduction in bone mass relative to the norms of age, sex and race, leading to skeletal abnormalities. It is the most common bone disease in women and men.

Osteoporosis occurs in people of both sexes, but it attacks women more often than men. Its incidence clearly increases in people over 60 years of age. It is characterized by thinning (thinning) of bone tissue, which results in thinning and reduction in the number of cancellous bone bundles, and thinning of cortical bone. On microscopic examination, one can notice a quantitative and non-qualitative difference between healthy bones and osteoporotically modified bones. The bone thus becomes weak and breaks easily. When the fracture threshold is reached, a clinical picture of osteoporosis is formed.

If you suffer from osteoporosis and want a natural cure, we have the solution for you.

Osteoporosis and yogurt: What do you need to know?

Yogurt contains high calcium content which is important to consume every day. Nutritionists recommend at least one serving of yogurt per day to maintain bone density. Yogurt is also a safe source of calcium harvest for people with lactose intolerance. Eating yogurt is without a doubt a delicious way to overcome bone problems without disturbing our health.

It is rich in important nutrients

Yogurt contains some of almost all of the nutrients your body needs. It is known to contain a lot of calcium, a mineral necessary for healthy teeth and bones. Just one cup provides 49% of your daily calcium requirement. It is also rich in B vitamins, especially vitamin B12 and riboflavin, both of which can protect against heart disease and certain birth defects of the neural tube. One cup also provides 38% of your daily requirement for phosphorus, 12% for magnesium, and 18% for potassium. These minerals are essential for several biological processes, such as the regulation of blood pressure, metabolism, and bone health. One nutrient that yogurt doesn't naturally contain is vitamin D, but it's usually fortified with it. Vitamin D  supports healthy bones and the immune system and may reduce the risk of certain diseases, including heart disease and depression.

  • NATURAL REMEDIES TO CURE OSTEOPOROSIS

    What is osteoporosis?

Bones are made up of living cells that contain fluid, every day old cells disappear and new ones are formed. Thus, the bones are in a continuous process of modification, whereby new ones are created and old ones are broken down. The process varies with age, so after age 30, bone mass begins to decrease, increasing the risk of osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is one of the most common diseases in older women.

Fatty foods, processed foods, canned foods, salt pickles, alcohol, coffee, tobacco, hormonal levels, certain drugs such as corticosteroids promote bone system breakdown. At the same time, being overweight is an enemy of the bones because it puts pressure on them. Elements such as calcium, phosphorus, vitamins, beta-carotene, fiber, magnesium, protein and minerals help to increase muscle mass and bone density, thereby reducing joint pain and inflammation.

    Recommended foods for osteoporosis

The best foods for good health

Some foods and drinks contain the building blocks the body needs to prevent bone breakdown. Orange juice, milk, cereals are effective and recommended foods for a healthy breakfast. Specialists recommend tomato juice to prevent the onset of the disease and slow down its progression. Due to the lycopene they contain, tomatoes help strengthen bones. Therefore, it is recommended to consume two glasses of fresh tomato juice per day. The eggshell mixed with honey can be very effective for osteoporosis. The shells are washed well and left to dry, then crushed and mixed with honey, so that the parts are equal. The mixture is left to macerate for seven days, then a teaspoon is consumed on an empty stomach. Dill is another important source of calcium. Dill tincture relieves pain and stimulates the regeneration of cartilage tissue. For the preparation, use 100 ml of 50-degree alcohol, add three teaspoons of dill powder and let macerate for nine days, then filter. For three weeks, consume one teaspoon dissolved in 100 ml of water, three times a day.
There are two other easy ways to increase your calcium intake from your diet. The first is the addition of powdered milk in culinary preparations - one teaspoon of powdered milk contains ten times more calcium than normal milk - and the second is the addition of vinegar in bone soup (2 -3 tablespoons), especially that of cow, pork or chicken thighs. It is consumed daily about 100 milliliters, in addition to the daily soup or as such. The vinegar will dissolve more calcium in the bones.

Salmon, milk, cheese, yogurt, nuts, sesame seeds, flax, green leafy vegetables (broccoli, Chinese cabbage, cauliflower, spinach) are other foods that help maintain the healthy bone system due to its high content of calcium, vitamins and minerals. , dried beans, tofu, sardines and bananas.

It is important to keep in mind that if we have a healthy and adequate diet, we can eliminate the likelihood of having bone problems. Consuming fresh milk, fruits and vegetables help strengthen the bone system. Magnesium and calcium are key building blocks for maintaining the health of the bone system. In addition, sun exposure and exercise are essential for strengthening bones and muscles and for tissue regeneration. Daily trips of at least 30 minutes or a balneo-climatic treatment under medical supervision are recommended. Additionally, doctors recommend avoiding heels and choosing comfortable leather shoes for women who have bone problems.

Exercises that keep bone disease away

11 undeniable benefits of physical activity - Châtelaine

To prevent osteoporosis, it is not enough to eat a diet rich in calcium but to be active. The most recommended exercises for maintaining the bone system are jogging, aerobics, and weight lifting. While swimming and biking are good for the heart, they don't prevent osteoporosis because they don't require a lot of bone. Depending on the degree of fracture risk, some exercises are inappropriate, so it is good to ask the doctor what kind of exercises you can do safely.

  • What is the best natural treatment for osteoporosis?

Treatments for osteoporosis depend on the age, gender, and severity of the condition, but today I'm going to talk about things that can help anyone with osteoporosis. There are a variety of natural solutions, including vitamin D supplements, diet changes, and a simple exercise program. First, click on the image below to discover the best natural treatment to permanently eliminate osteoporosis.

    Natural treatment for osteoporosis

    1 - Try a vitamin D supplement

    Vitamin d 1

Vitamin D helps the body absorb calcium, which helps build strong, healthy bones. Vitamin D deficiency makes it harder for the body to absorb calcium, which leads to symptoms like depression, joint pain and digestive problems. In addition, a calcium deficiency makes adults more susceptible to fractures and osteoporosis. However, studies show that getting enough vitamin D slows the loss of bone density and therefore lowers the risk of fractures.
Since most vitamin D comes to us from sun exposure, this problem is common in areas with limited sunlight. People who do not spend enough time outdoors during the day or seniors confined to their homes are also at greater risk. Deficient vitamin D receptors and poor diet can also contribute to a deficiency. It is possible to get vitamin D from food sources such as fatty fish, cheese, and egg yolks. However, vegans, who do not consume animal products, must be careful not to find themselves in a situation of deficiency.

    MY TIP

Taking a vitamin D supplement is a good idea if you have osteoporosis because it helps the body absorb calcium, a chemical that is important for the bones. A liquid supplement is preferable because it is generally better absorbed by the body.

2 - Increase your magnesium intake

    Magnesium

Magnesium is very important for people who have osteoporosis because it promotes the absorption of calcium, while helping to convert vitamin D to its most active form. Vitamin D, as we have seen, is also very important for the absorption of calcium.
Magnesium deficiency, more common in Western countries, can be compensated for by eating more whole grain foods, nuts, and dried fruits, as well as taking a magnesium supplement.

    MY TIP
A liquid supplement is preferable because it is more easily absorbed into the blood.

3 - Remedy the lack of acidity in the stomach

Lack of stomach acid can occur for a number of reasons. It can be a result of age, as it is more difficult for us to produce stomach acid as we age. Other things that can contribute to the problem: stress, poor food choices, nutrient deficiencies and infections. Taking antacids for long periods of time can also lower stomach acid levels.

Low gastric acidity is a risk factor for osteoporosis because it hinders the body's ability to solubilize and ionize calcium, which is very important in maintaining bone health.

    MY TIP
If the lack of stomach acid is causing you problems, try bitter herbs like Knapweed before meals. It helps digestion and should be taken five minutes before eating.

    4 - fight stress

Stress is a risk factor for osteoporosis because it reduces digestive capacity. Poor digestion can cause a lack of stomach acidity which, as we have just explained, can affect calcium levels.
Stress is often accompanied by a lack of sleep and poor blood sugar regulation. However, the latter has an impact on bone density, proof that stress can be a risk factor for osteoporosis.

    MY TIP
Passionflower helps relieve symptoms of moderate stress and anxiety. For more tips on dealing with long-term stress.

5 - change your eating habits

A diet high in animal protein, caffeine, processed foods, and refined sugar can produce high acidity in the blood, which is bad for bone health. A diet made up of fresh produce is certainly a better option. As one study in particular concluded, not enough fruits and vegetables are eaten, despite the important trace elements and phytochemicals they contain contribute to bone remodeling.

The study in question, which analyzed the findings of 20 trials to assess the role of whole foods on bone health, also suggests that dried fruits like prunes may contribute to bone health, primarily by providing significant amounts. of vitamin K, manganese, boron, copper and potassium.

Nutrients like selenium, copper, and iron, found in a variety of foods, can also play a role in bone health. We should therefore opt for a healthy, balanced and varied diet, especially during vulnerable periods of bone remodeling such as menopause.

Research also shows that salt intake can affect calcium levels. When sodium intake is too high, the body gets rid of it in the urine — that's a good thing — but also releases calcium at the same time, which isn't good at all! High levels of calcium in the urine can contribute to the development of kidney stones, while low levels can weaken thin bones and lead to osteoporosis. Therefore, to improve bone health, it is important to reduce your salt intake.

    MY TIP
It's easy to point fingers at crisps and other salty snack foods, but when it comes to high sodium, processed meats, ready meals, white bread and even prepackaged sauces are just as good. condemnable. Instead, why not make low-salt, homemade snacks and meals?

6 - Avoid sparkling juices and caffeine

Drinking large amounts of sparkling juices and caffeine can lower phosphorus levels in the body, which is not in the best interests of your bones. High levels of phosphate in the blood negatively affect vitamin D levels, and because vitamin D helps calcium absorption, bones may suffer.

    OUR TIP
Swap the lemonade and soda for a refreshing smoothie; we have a variety of recipes to try according to your preferences on our recipe platform. If you are a coffee lover, our natural drink Bambu is an alternative: it does not contain caffeine, and therefore is good for bone health!

    7 - Do moderate exercises

To maintain strong bones, it is also important to exercise, since inactivity has been linked to an increased risk of osteoporosis. Just walking for 20 to 30 minutes a day is a good place to start, but you can also try some low-impact sports like swimming and golf. Your healthcare professional will also be able to advise you on which sports classes may be right for you.

    MY TIP
Adults need about 160 minutes of exercise per week, so why not get half an hour of it five days a week?

Do I need to take calcium for osteoporosis?

We all know calcium is important for strong bones, right? But did you know that it is actually very difficult to be deficient in calcium just because of your diet?
People with eating disorders, seniors who have nutritional deficiencies (because they can't get to the grocery store or rely on ready meals) and anyone who uses recreational drugs can be prone to this problem.
On the other hand, if you eat a variety of foods, it is unlikely that you will develop a calcium deficiency from what you eat. Therefore, instead of trying to take a calcium supplement, it would be wiser to focus more on vitamin D which, as I explained,
A published study concluded that increasing calcium intake from food sources and taking calcium supplements produces only a small, non-gradual increase in bone mineral density (BMD), which is unlikely to lead to an increase in bone mineral density (BMD). clinically significant reduction in fracture risk. Researchers have concluded that we need to do more than just increase our calcium intake if we are to have healthy bones.
I hope the solutions I presented to you above will be useful to you!

    Profiles at risk

Osteoporosis is a progressive disease. As people get older, the process of replacing existing bone with new bone slows down and you start to lose bone density.

Osteoporosis affects both men and women. However, it is more common in women after menopause due to the reduction of estrogen in the body. People who are Caucasian or Asian are more likely to develop the disease.

Other common risk factors, family history, poor diet, physical inactivity, smoking, certain medications, low body weight, overactive thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal glands are also linked to l osteoporosis.

Not getting enough calcium can also cause osteoporosis. Other nutrient deficiencies that appear to have a role in bone formation include vitamins D and K, magnesium, manganese, zinc, copper, and boron.

    Symptoms

Its main consequence is the increased risk of bone fractures. The bones become so fragile that even a slight fall can cause a fracture, which often occurs in the hips, wrists, or spine. During later stages, there may be signs and symptoms such as back pain, height loss over time, hunched posture, and limited mobility.

    Natural treatments

If you are under a diagnosis of osteoporosis or at a high risk of developing it, you must follow a strict diet and maintain a healthy lifestyle to help stave off or slow the progression of the disease. Additionally, you can try some simple natural remedies to keep your bones healthy and strong.

  • How to Avoid Osteonecrosis in Osteoporosis

Osteonecrosis of the jaw is scary in cases of osteoporosis or osteopenia. Rest assured ! It is extremely rare (less than one case per 10,000 people), while fractures affect one in two women after 50 years. We will see, however, that it is the result of a number of causes that can be treated and prevented. Osteonecrosis can be avoided (prevention), spotted early (to treat the causes) and cured (to restore bone). This is how the experts in African Phytotherapy (My Plants), provide you with a treatment based on medicinal plants to cure Osteonecrosis. Click on the image below to discover this natural treatment.

    Natural treatment for Osteonecrosis

Osteonecrosis: a distressing question in osteoporosis

You have heard of osteonecrosis before. And that worries you?

It is a somewhat mysterious disease that is talked about a lot on the internet. Yet, you don't know many people who are affected and you would like to know more. Of course, your doctor has given you some indications, often too quick for your liking ... And you would like to look further into the question, to know how to avoid this type of problem, to understand what is involved ...

You are in the right place!

    Osteonecrosis: who is affected?

The people most affected are men between 30 and 60 years old. Oh no! It's not the women! This is also why my doctor quickly had me do an X-ray when I complained of pain in my hip. Rest assured: it was not that. What you need to know is that osteonecrosis can happen in a wide variety of circumstances. It is indeed a disease as "natural" (if I may say so) as a heart attack or a cerebrovascular accident (stroke).

We will see in what follows why osteonecrosis is also a cousin of this type of gloomy disease ...

Despite this, we often hear that osteonecrosis is the result of taking certain medications. In particular, drugs against osteoporosis. More particularly when it comes to osteonecrosis of the jaw.

Therefore, for fear of osteonecrosis, many people avoid drugs that would more surely prevent them from serious fractures ...

However, osteonecrosis mainly affects people who are not taking osteoporosis medication.

And a lot of osteonecrosis concerns bones other than those of the jaw, which is not necessarily done to reassure us.

In fact, osteonecrosis can affect any of the bones in our skeleton. Thus, it most often concerns

    • the thigh bone (femur),

    • the arm bone (humerus),

    • knee,

    • the shoulder,

    • ankle…

In other words, osteonecrosis of the jaw is extremely rare… even if we hear a lot about it.

    A bone infarction

In fact, osteonecrosis is a partial destruction of a portion of bone following a lack of oxygenation.

The blood no longer delivers oxygen to a bone region, and that region dies.

It's like a bone infarction: for one reason or another, the blood vessels that deliver oxygen to the bone get blocked. As a result, the area that the blood no longer irrigates wastes in a few days ...

The origin of osteonecrosis is often difficult to understand or even unknown. Unfortunately, medicine does not know everything (yet) ...

She nevertheless knows that the risks increase if, in the family, there have already been other cases of osteonecrosis ...

In these cases, it is advisable to be even more vigilant in order to avoid such a development (carry out examinations and adopt protective behavior), and if necessary remedy it as quickly as possible.

    Multiple causes

But often, osteonecrosis is linked to underlying causes, such as:

    • a fracture (sometimes very small and almost undetectable) that will tear a large blood vessel,

    • a blood clot that will block a small bone artery from the inside,

    • bone cancer that will jam a blood vessel from the outside ...

Experts indicate that osteonecrosis can be the consequence of countless diseases (cancer, lupus, AIDS, Gaucher disease, gout, scuba diving accident, osteoarthritis, blood disease, disease of the blood vessels ...) including osteoporosis ...

Osteonecrosis is much more common in people with cancer. Cancers can often attack bones, disrupt their normal function, block blood vessels and cause necrosis of bone tissue.

Certain medical treatments, by causing blood supply problems, can also cause osteonecrosis (chemotherapy, radiotherapy, high doses of steroids, organ transplants, etc.).

And it's true, several pharmaceutical treatments for osteoporosis have the reputation of causing the risk of osteonecrosis of the jaw ...

Osteonecrosis of the jaw and osteoporosis

Thus, certain bisphosphonates, denosumab, have in the list of their “undesirable effects” the risks of osteonecrosis of the jaw.

This is not reassuring… I agree with you (at first glance).

For all those who profess to denigrate the pharmaceutical industry, the link is obvious: osteonecrosis of the jaw necessarily comes from drugs.

However, it is not that simple. Indeed, osteonecrosis is a disease linked to osteoporosis. As we saw above, we find people with osteoporosis and also having osteonecrosis, even without treatment with a drug.

We have already seen that osteonecrosis can also be the consequence of infections. However, the mouth is the site of many infections: teeth (cavities), gums (periodontitis, etc.) in particular. And we don't always spot them easily, nor early enough.

In addition, dental care also leads to small infections. These infections can become more serious when the interventions are deeper (treatment of the roots, pulling teeth, devitalization, etc.).

There have been many cases of osteonecrosis of the jaw in people not taking osteoporosis medications.

Osteonecrosis: a serious consequence of osteoporosis

Osteonecrosis of the jaw could then simply be a serious consequence of osteoporosis. A weakening of the jaw bone, possibly combined with another cause (dental care, infection, clot, crack, etc.) would quite simply lead to the complete destruction of the bone.

In short, osteonecrosis would then simply be present independently of drugs in people with osteoporosis. It would therefore be discovered during dental treatment: there would be confusion between the consequences of the disease which would be attributed to pharmaceutical treatments ...

Last element to take into account: the risk of osteonecrosis, in the event of treatment with drugs against osteoporosis would be less than 1 osteonecrosis for 10,000 people treated. This is compared to the risk of fractures for women over 50 (1 in 2 will be affected by a fracture, while osteoporosis drugs can divide the risk by 2 to 4).

Even if all this sounds bleak, it is nevertheless quite relevant to keep a cool head and regain hope.

Because, even in cases of osteoporosis, osteonecrosis of the jaw can be avoided, can be spotted very early, can be cured ...

Prevent and avoid osteonecrosis, even with osteoporosis

    Osteonecrosis can be prevented

In most cases, osteonecrosis has causes that can be changed in advance.

Excellent cardiovascular health (including very good cholesterol levels) is a basic element of protection.  It will provide long-term oxygen and nutrients that our entire body needs. And what our bones need.

This is done in particular through food ( the Mediterranean diet is excellent in this regard ) and physical activity.

Additional benefit: they are protective elements of bone health and general health.

It is also important to have excellent oral hygiene:

Finally, all protective behaviors in matters of osteoporosis will reduce the risk of osteonecrosis. As regards the jaw as well as the other bones of the skeleton, which we had already seen can be affected more often than the jaw.

The case of important dental care

If you need major dental care and you and your doctor are considering treatment for osteoporosis, you should do dental work before starting your protective treatment. In short, visit your dentist before starting any pharmaceutical treatment.

If you need serious dental care, and if you are on treatment for osteoporosis, you should:

    • find a dentist familiar with these treatments.

    • put him in contact with your general practitioner and / or your rheumatologist.

Together, they can consider the best way to make an accurate diagnosis and follow-up to avoid the harmful consequences of a possible dental infection.

    Osteonecrosis can be spotted

Before the damage occurs, it is possible to spot the onset of osteonecrosis of the jaw with medical imaging.

This first involves making a dental “panoramic”, that is to say a complete X-ray of the teeth and jaws.

The specialist who analyzes the “panoramic” must then look at the radio in detail to detect any suspicious clues.

An ultrasound can complete the examination to confirm or deny the possible risks.

It is a real sleuth's job, which requires experienced operators. Also, if you already have a personal or family history of osteoporosis or osteopenia, you should report it.

If you are on treatment, it is also in your best interest to find a dentist with knowledge of this treatment. Some dentists who are unfamiliar with osteoporosis drugs may tend to make them bear sins that do not necessarily belong to them ...

If the damage is small, it can be easily cured. Sometimes by simple food hygiene measures (a better way to eat), in particular, after removing a possible underlying infection.

This is all the more important given that if we delay, the foci of attack of osteonecrosis may multiply close to each other. It is indeed very common, when we spot the first focus, to discover a second smaller one nearby, very often in the same bone!

    Osteonecrosis can be treated

In case of attack (wherever it is, for that matter), it will be necessary, as quickly as possible, to discover the origin of the osteonecrosis with the help of your doctor.

This will require teamwork between your general practitioner and various specialists: rheumatologist, dentist, medical imaging, analysis laboratory, angiologist, nutritionist, etc. Coordination by your doctor is therefore very important, of course: it is he who, with you, is at the center of the web of specialties.

It will then be necessary to treat the causes to avoid any aggravation or any resumption of the bone disease.

This begins with dietary and hygienic measures so that your body receives all the nutrients and stimulation it needs to function properly.

It can also involve treating the underlying infection that is commonly the cause of osteonecrosis.

For some patients, this may involve anticoagulant therapy. They work well (they decrease the risk of clots and improve blood flow throughout the body) when their use is appropriate.

For other patients, it will be necessary to remove the necrotic (and often infected) area, which will allow the normal bone to re-ossify this area afterward. In rare cases, bone grafting (autografting) will resolve the last existing problems.

Finally, drug treatments will often be stopped, if they are suspected of having a role, even a small one, in the disease, during regeneration. They can then be resumed to continue bone consolidation.

    Conclusion

Osteonecrosis is an extremely rare disease in reality and much more common on social media.

It can occur in any bone of the skeleton, including the jaws, although it is extremely rare.

There are many causes that can lead to osteonecrosis, including osteoporosis, usually in conjunction with another cause (often cardiovascular).

Certain drugs are known or suspected to be involved in the genesis of osteonecrosis, including certain osteoporosis drugs.

Osteonecrosis (in general) is preventable, at least to a large extent, by preventive measures that lower the risk of osteoporosis.

It is also preventable by improving dental hygiene and health. It is especially advisable to be followed very regularly by your dentist.

Medical imaging (dental “panoramic”) makes it possible to spot it very early, in order to treat the causes immediately and allow it to resolve itself naturally. Finally, it can be treated medically with care adapted to the stage of the disease.

In short, it is certainly not a piece of fun (and I do not wish it on anyone). Given the number of fractures that invalidate older women, this does not justify the terror circulating on some social networks

  • OSTEOPOROSIS: Exercise to treat it

    WHAT IS OSTENECROSIS?

    Vascular necrosis

(Osteonecrosis; ischemic bone necrosis; aseptic necrosis;  osteochondritis dissecans)

Vascular necrosis is a focal bone infarction, under a series of conditions, or is idiopathic. The consequences can be severe osteoarthritis. It manifests as pain in the bone or in an adjacent joint. Early diagnosis is best done by MR. It is treated with rest, pain relievers, limited-range exercise, and sometimes surgery.

In the United States, the incidence of avascular bone necrosis (AVN) is approximately 20,000 per year and causes approximately 5% of osteoarthritis of the hip. The head of the femur (hip) is most commonly damaged, followed by the distal femur and proximal tibia (knee) and the head of the humerus (shoulder), while the heel bone, the navicular bone of the tarsus and the carpal scaphoid bone are less frequently affected. In 33 to 72% of non-traumatic AVNs, the disease is bilateral. Idiopathic hip AVN is 4-5 × more common in men, with a peak incidence between ages 30 and 60, while knee AVN is more common in older women.

    RISK FACTORS FOR OSTEONECROSE

First of all, you should know that bone mass is determined by agegender, lifestyle and that it consists of calcium salts, so its lack also plays an important role in the development of the disease. In order for calcium to be used in food, a sufficient amount of vitamin D in the body is needed. Its deficiency usually leads to improper use of calcium ingested with supplements or foods. In order for the body to get enough vitamin D, we need moderate sun and sunbathing (sometimes supplements and a diet rich in vitamin D), and to maintain it, hormone balance is important. Bone mass forms at the age of 25 and remains unchanged for the next 10 years. After that, the normal decrease in bone mass is 0.3% to 0.5% of bone mass per year.

The estrogen in women is an important factor to maintain the amount of bone massAs the estrogen levels in menopause descend and therefore the bones increasingly lose their elasticity and hardness, and the risk of disease is greatly increased. Estrogen, in fact, stores calcium in a woman's bones. Even when sufficient amounts of vitamin D, calcium and phosphorus are ingested, and when their level in the body is satisfactory, an insufficient amount of estrogen almost always leads to osteoporosis. Women during the first 10 years of menopause lose between 2% and 3% of bone mass, which most often leads to osteoporosis.

In men, testosterone stores calcium in the bones. When andropause begins in men, testosterone levels naturally drop and the risk of developing osteoporosis is much higher. In men,  andropause begins on average 10 years later than in women, and osteoporosis occurs later.

The osteoporosis senile occurs in both sexes after age 70 years. Then the body already loses the ability to absorb vitamins and minerals from food, which significantly reduces the absorption of calcium, phosphorus and vitamin D. Reduced physical activity also reduces the activity of bone cells and the risk increases dramatically.

Lifestyle can also significantly affect the development of osteoporosis. Smoking, insufficient physical activity, alcohol consumption, coffee, a diet low in calcium and insufficient exposure to the sun, increase the risk of disease. Chronic diseases, such as diabetes, anorexia, hyperparathyroidism, hyperthyroidism, inflammatory bowel disease, chronic kidney disease, rheumatism or arthritis, the condition after organ transplantation, greatly increase the chances of developing osteoporosis.

    Our treatment

Our natural treatment can treat osteonecrosis very effectively in women. The reason is its high content of phytoestrogens. It looks like estrogen needed to maintain optimal hormonal balance and increase bone density . In addition to our grandmother's remedy, changing the lifestyle is also important, namely quitting smoking,  reducing alcohol consumption,  maintaining optimal body weight, or exercising.

If time permits, walk as much as you can each day. Walking also affects your cardiovascular system, strengthens immunity and has a beneficial effect on the bone and joint system.

    Follow the imaginary line

In fact, you can draw the line yourself with chalk or a marker and then walk over it going one foot in front of the foot, joining the heel of the leading foot, and the remaining toes. Repeat this in 4 sets of 10 repetitions and do the same in reverse. When you do this exercise, the spine should be straightened. Be careful during the exercise so as not to lose your balance and injure yourself.

    Stretch daily

Should you stretch and when to stretch? - Point

This exercise can be done in several ways. Straighten your back, spread your feet shoulder-width apart, and raise your arms. Bend your upper body back and look as much as possible. Don't overdo it, as spinal injuries can occur. Hold this position for about 2 seconds and slowly return to the original position. Repeat the exercise 3 times. If your joints are weak, this exercise can also be done with your knees slightly bent. If you are doing an exercise near a wall, you can try reaching for the wall with your hands, but be careful when performing these exercises. Squats are done in a similar fashion and are best done against the wall. This will provide you with safety against possible falls, but also a real spine during exercise. Stand against the wall. Spread your legs hip-width apart and twist your toes outward. Raise your arms high, then slowly lower yourself into a half-squat. Do 2-3 repetitions, then slowly return to the original position.
