What is the prostate?

The prostate (prostate, prostate) is a male genital organ that resembles a chestnutThe prostate gland is made up of two lobes surrounded by a muscle capsule.

The prostate is located below the bladder and a part of the urethra called the prostatic urethra passes through it. This is important in the formation of symptoms of prostatic hyperplasia when the mechanical pressure of the prostate on the urethra causes difficulty in the flow of urine. From the back, the prostate is adjacent to the rectum, making it easy to explore this organ with a finger inserted into the rectum.

The prostate produces a semen secretion in which semen is suspended. The smooth muscles that make up the prostate and its capsule contract during ejaculation (ejaculation), facilitating the release of secretions into the urethra.

Prostate cancer: who does it affect?

Prostate cancer is a   fairly common cancerIn Poland, it is the third most common malignancy in humans (after the cancer lung and colorectal cancer). It occurs mainly after the age of 50. The incidence increases with age: the probability of developing prostate cancer between the ages of 40 and 59 is 1/78, while between 60 and 79 years it is 1/6. During the autopsy, prostate cancer is found in up to 80% of men over the age of 80, so it is the result of the fact that most men die of prostate cancer, but not necessarily from it.  Prostate cancer often runs a latent course, has no symptoms, and is not a cause of death. This tumor is usually hormone-dependent, that is, its growth is stimulated by the hormone testosterone.

The prostate, which is found congenitally in every man and which began to grow due to the change in hormonal balance with age, significantly reduces the quality of life. Works produced; While 50% of 60-year-old men and 90% of 80-year-old men have benign prostatic hyperplasia, one in 12 men has rotten cancer. Age, family history, fatty eating habits, hormones, vitamins A, and D are effective in prostate disease. Therefore, it is possible to take precautions for a prostate disease if the foods eaten are taken into account.
