Pregnant women with adenomyosis were at increased risk of preeclampsia

Scientists evaluated 6 studies involving 322 patients with adenomyosis and 9420 controls. Women with adenomyosis were at increased risk of  preterm delivery  (i.e. before week 37),  newborns with  ADG,  and  preeclampsia. SGA (  small for gestational age ) -Newborns are smaller or lighter than children of the same age. The Pre-eclampsia is a condition in pregnant women suffering from edema of hypertension and urinary protein. It can cause dizziness or nausea. The risk of premature labor or of life-threatening complications increases. Women with adenomyosis are more likely to have complications such as premature birth or preeclampsia during pregnancy or to give birth to smaller, lighter children. Closer monitoring by the gynecologist can reduce the risk of complications.

What are the foods to eat when suffering from adenomyosis?

For many women with adenomyosis, endometriosis,  fibroids,  and  polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) , eating a healthy diet can dramatically improve their symptoms. In fact, nutrition has a big influence on your quality of life. A balanced diet contains vitamins and minerals which strengthen the organ systems. Natural foods also contain antioxidants and other anti-inflammatory substances that fight disease and reduce the risk of cancer and heart disease for women. If you have adenomyosis, your diet should include:
- Drink at least 1.5 liters of water every day. You can also drink raspberry juice or orange juice.
- berries like blueberries and raspberries
- cruciferous vegetables like broccoli and arugula
- foods rich in omega-3s like chia, salmon, hemp and flax seeds
- dark green leafy vegetables
- foods rich in vitamin B like millet, sunflower seeds and beans
- foods high in fiber (soybeans, chickpeas, dry beans, flour, oats)
Consuming natural foods should be a top priority. But not all foods have the same virtues.

What foods should you avoid when you have adenomyosis?

Avoiding foods with unhealthy estrogen levels is a great way to start reducing or eliminating symptoms associated with adenomyosis. If you suffer from adenomyosis, you should avoid:
- excessive consumption of red meat, cold meats and dairy products
- saturated and trans
fats - spicy foods such as chilli, pepper, garlic and onion. This type of food will intensify pelvic congestion and inflammation.
-refined oils
-alcohol, coffee and cigarettes. This will affect the vascular contraction resulting in abnormal menstruation.
-gluten
-soybeans -foods that are
too sweet, too salty, too cold
Many of these foods promote inflammation in the body or negatively influence hormonal balance. Inflammation occurs when the body releases mediators of the immune response at sites of injury and infection. The mechanism is a reaction that aims to heal and repair damaged tissue.
